An Adobe Church EST. 1907
A social club for the ones who design, build, and fly things out here — hosted in a 118-year-old adobe church with a walled courtyard garden. Sweat on Wednesdays, plaster on any day you want, drinks and vibes available on demand.
About the Building
Adobe brick made from the ground it stands on, walls a foot thick, wooden lintels cut when the railroad was the only reason anyone stopped here. It has been a catholic church, a home, an artist’s retreat, and now a gathering place for the community-minded.
Tucked away inside is the former confessional undergoing a transformation. A stage awaits performances musical or theatrical. Outside, the walled courtyard garden is lined with pine tree sentinels- gravel paths, succulents and cacti holding court in the central bed, a barbeque, and a fire pit that runs late.
We are slowly bringing the rest of it back, one project at a time. That work is the club as much as anything else on this page.
What Do We Offer?
Every Wednesday: Double Abs
Double abs = double gains. Join us for a 20 minute hard core circuit followed by a 50 minute mix of tai chi, pilates, and yoga, of course all with more core sprinkled in for good measure.
Building Projects
Tired of sitting at your computer? Come get your hands dirty. There is plenty of adobe patching, plaster work, wall tiling, floor tiling, sprinkler plumbing, and digging to do. So. Much. Digging.
Movie Nights and Parties
Twice a month- roll up for some popcorn and a movie. Catch the occasional Halloween, Christmas, Birthday, Farewell, and “Just Because” parties. Have any ideas for other events? Throw ’em out there!
Overnight Stays
For those nights you just need somewhere to lay your head. Save an hour of commuting and put it towards that precious shut-eye. Sleep on a cot, the couch, or a floor mattress- your choice. Our Lady is fully equipped with a shower. And a toilet. It flushes! For late nights, early call times, or a friend passing through on the 14.
